Improving Patient Access

black_gold_penTo improve access to the practice for patients, we have been looking at various ways to accomplish this. We hope that the following systems will be useful.

  Appointments Online

Appointments Online offers simple instructions and prompts to make sure that it is easy for you to book, view or cancel appointment — online — regardless of the time of day or night.

Using the internet site SystmOnline, you can search for and view a range of available appointments; then just book the one which is most convenient for you.

  Repeat Medication Online

You can make requests for repeat prescriptions — without having to visit the practice. Once the request has been processed, you can then call at the practice to pick up the prescription or collect it from your nominated pharmacy if you are using the electronic prescription service (EPS).
Please note: Repeat prescriptions will be accessed by the practice at 10am and 2pm will be dealt with the following day. Therefore please use this service for non-urgent prescriptions only.

  Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

We also offer EPS, a service that allows you to collect your repeat prescriptions directly from a convenient nominated pharmacy with no need to visit the practice to collect your paper prescription. You can nominate a pharmacy online or speak to one of our reception team.

  SMS Reminders and Confirmation

Never forget an appointment again!

We now have a messaging service which will confirm the appointment you have just made and then remind you of the appointment nearer the time. We now also offer patients the facility to cancel their appointments using our 'text back' service

  Automated Phone Service

Want to make an appointment when its convenient to you? Our automated telephone service — Patient Partner is available 24/7. You can make, check or cancel your appointments using this service.

  Self-Check In

Avoid the queues at the reception desk. The self-check in screens are situated on both floors in the main waiting rooms.

What you need to do:

To opt into online access, EPS and/or SMS reminders please ask at the reception desk. 
If you already use online services you can amend your access and/or opt in to EPS using your SystemOnline account.
