Practice Management

Mr Adrian Ilott

PositionPractice Manager

Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Learning Disabilities)

Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work

Certificate in Local Government Management

Prince 2 Project Management

Suffolk GP Federation Practice Manager Development Programme

Personal Profile

Adrian has many years of management experience in a variety of organisations. He began with The Children’s Society, which is a charity which primarily campaigns for children’s rights. This was followed by a spell managing a busy social work team, which again focussed on children and young people. In 2002 Adrian achieved a long standing professional ambition when he was appointed manager of Child Development Services in Suffolk, based at the CHAMP unit in Ipswich Hospital. After 12 years in that post, it was time for a new challenge and Adrian took up his first Practice Manager position at The Birches in Kesgrave, before joining the Grove in January 2016.

The role of practice manager is extremely diverse, but Adrian is particularly passionate about his work with the Patient Participation Group, which is perhaps not surprising giving his professional background in advocacy work. He is also extremely interested in developing services and in working with colleagues from other agencies to develop a more ‘joined up’ service for patients.

Away from work, Adrian lives with his wife Julia. They enjoy travelling together and have visited many European cities with Rome being their favourite. Adrian is also a very keen cyclist and commutes to work on his bike most days. He is a member of a local club and has enjoyed many memorable experiences, such as riding at the Olympic Velodrome in London and participating in Ride London, which is a 100 mile ride around the Capital and into Surrey on closed roads. He will be riding again this year, raising funds for the charity WellChild.
